👋 HEY CUTIE!

Hey CurationsLA Fam! It's been a busy stretch at our umbrella agency CURATIONS as we continue to rollout the bigger plan: AI x Human Creativity, Los Angeles Youth Curator Movement, and roadmapping more communities like ours at CurationsLA. But enough business talk, this weekend is all about the Dodgers and the World Series. My gut says plenty of Good Dodger Vibes ahead. Have a great weekend everyone, and I'll see you Tuesday, taking this Monday to focus on incorporating our traditional events section.

P.S. A new Curator's Corner is below, featuring our community submissions and what our Curators have been discovering or doing. Breezy northerly winds become more persistent Saturday and Sunday with advisory-level gusts possible in the mountain passes and I-5 corridor, while the region remains dry. CRENSHAW 🌐 FREE WIFI

Los Angeles has launched free public Wi-Fi along the Crenshaw Corridor through a partnership between Cisco, the City of LA, and local nonprofits including Destination Crenshaw and the California Community Foundation. The Crenshaw Community Connectivity Pilot delivers high-speed internet to residents, businesses, and visitors from Leimert Park to Hyde Park using Cisco’s cloud-managed infrastructure. City leaders called the project a model for digital equity, designed to bridge the divide and prepare LA for upcoming global events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics.

CULVER CITY 🚇 NEW LINE

Culver City has thrown its support behind Alternatives 4 and 5 of Metro’s Sepulveda Transit Corridor, a proposed heavy rail line connecting Sherman Oaks to Santa Monica and Van Nuys to Westwood. Mayor Dan O’Brien says the plan could ease gridlock on the 405 and link the Valley, Westside and eventually LAX. Metro is still reviewing options including monorail and heavy rail with $9.5 billion in funding already identified. The project is slated for completion between 2033 and 2035, pending Metro Board approval next year.

WILDLIFE CROSSING 🦒 FINAL PHASE

The Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is now in its final phase. The crossing will reconnect the Santa Monica Mountains and Simi Hills, providing wildlife a safe path over the 101 Freeway. Grand opening of the crossing will take place next fall.

Designed by 64North, the stucco and wood paneled structure would feature townhome style layouts, a rooftop amenity deck, and rear patio. TRAILER 🎞️ PLURIBUS

From Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, comes Pluribus—a darkly inventive sci-fi drama where the most miserable person on Earth must save humanity from happiness itself. Starring Rhea Seehorn alongside Monae and Monique Lott, the two-season Apple TV+ original blends humor, dread, and surrealism in Gilligan’s signature style. Produced by Sony Pictures Television with an ensemble that includes Karolina Wydra, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, and Miriam Shor, Pluribus marks Gilligan’s boldest project yet. ZOOTOPIA 2 🍿 BOX OFFICE RUN

Zootopia 2 Eyes Thanksgiving Box Office Run
Disney is gearing up for another animated sequel this Thanksgiving with Zootopia 2, projected to earn between $95m–$110m over its opening weekend and $140m–$160m across the five-day holiday. Following last year’s record-breaking Moana 2 release, the studio hopes to keep its Thanksgiving streak alive, though forecasts suggest a more modest debut. The first Zootopia grossed $341m domestically—nearly $100m more than Moana, fueling optimism for strong family turnout. Early tracking also highlights Wicked: For Good and Predator: Badlands among November’s biggest contenders.

DEPP 🎄 CHRISTMAS CAROL

Johnny Depp is making his big studio comeback with Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, a Paramount Pictures reimagining of the Charles Dickens classic directed by Ti West (X, Pearl, MaXXXine). The film, described as a thrilling ghost story set in Dickens’ London, follows Scrooge’s supernatural redemption journey — a fitting parallel to Depp’s own Hollywood revival after years away from major productions. Andrea Riseborough joins the cast, with a screenplay by Nathaniel Halpern and production by Emma Watts. Paramount, under new leadership from David Ellison, is targeting a November 13th, 2026 release.
