Cool and sunny today after the storm, with highs still running 5–15 degrees below normal and some breezes in the I-5 corridor and into the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys later on. A light Santa Ana sets up Thursday + Friday with warmer temps, mid 70s to low 80s in the valleys, and locally gusty NE winds that should stay near or below advisory levels. Marine areas see Small Craft Advisory-level NW winds through at least late tomorrow night, with 6–9ft seas holding into the weekend. A brief warmup Saturday looks near normal before onshore flow rebuilds Sunday + Monday, bringing back some coastal clouds and a cooler trend.

Plans are in for 814 new apartments and 76,000 square feet of retail, plus perks like a pool, bowling alley, and more are planned at 12555 Ventura Blvd, right next to the LA River. If approved, Riverwalk Studio City would bring a mix of two- to seven-story buildings, a central pedestrian path connecting Ventura to the river, and a public plaza at Ventura and Whitsett. Forty-six units would be set aside as affordable housing for very low-income residents. It’s one of several big projects along this stretch, so expect the area to keep evolving.

SKID ROW 🌴 $2BN COMPLEX

LA’s Planning Commission just backed Fourth & Central, a $2bn, 7.6-acre mixed-use plan at 4th & Central on the Skid Row, Arts District edge. The project calls for 1,589 apartments, roughly 401k sq. ft. of creative offices, and 146k sq. ft. of retail + eats across ten buildings. Two acres of public open space is also planned, with the tallest tower capped at thirty stories.
